Spotlight On: Homecoming 2007

Homecoming 2007: A Weekend to Remember

From beginning to end, this year’s Ohio Wesleyan Homecoming offered something for everyone.

Student-initiated Spirit Week activities. The unveiling of the portrait of Tom Courtice, the University’s 14th president. A dinner honoring former University chaplain James Leslie and the establishment of the James Leslie Center for Peace and Justice. The opening of The Madwoman of Chaillot at the Chappelear Drama Center. A variety of sports, including the Homecoming football game, which Ohio Wesleyan won 17-10. The crowning of Homecoming royalty Benjamin Owen, Emily Bigelow, Delmar Flournoy, and Britta Buchenroth. Fraternity and sorority open houses. Team reunions and the induction of 11 new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame. A legacy admission program, Black Family Weekend activities—and so much more.

Even Mother Nature cooperated, painting the trees in full color and offering a little rain, a lot of sun, a bit of breeze, and the crisp air that signals autumn in Ohio.

It was a great time to call OWU home—again.
