![]() Spotlight On: 2007 Convocation Ohio Wesleyan University’s Class of 2011 and their parents filled Gray Chapel on Thursday night to celebrate the start of the students’ college careers with a special convocation ceremony. The ceremony marked the first of only two times that the 598 members of the new class will be together in one place during their four years at Ohio Wesleyan—the other will be during their graduation on May 8, 2011. In welcoming OWU’s newest students, Provost and Interim President David O. Robbins discussed the “Transitions, Challenges, and Opportunities” that will characterize their time at Ohio Wesleyan. “Ohio Wesleyan will provide you with the experiences, connections, and tools to develop into the person that you want to become,” Robbins said. “The opportunities are endless—that special project in your art class, that part in the campus play, that short story you create in your English class, that special essay in your history class, that summer science project where you can work side-by-side with a faculty mentor making new discoveries. These will become your defining moments.” Welcome and best wishes to the Class of 2011 and all students as the 2007-2008 academic year begins!
